RAWALPINDI, 6 September 2026 (Kamran Raja): Security forces have killed 21 militants during separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday. According to the military’s media wing, 10 militants were killed in North Waziristan during a successful operation along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The operation followed an earlier engagement conducted during the night of August 31 and September 1, in which 15 militants attempting to infiltrate Pakistan were killed.  KARACHI, 6 September, 2026 (Nosheen): A dignified guard-changing ceremony was held at Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi on Defence Day, with a smartly turned-out Pakistan Air Force (PAF) contingent assuming guard duties at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. GILGIT, 6 September, 2026 (Nosheen): Heavy rains and cloudburst-triggered flash floods disrupted daily life in several parts of Gilgit-Baltistan, blocking roads, damaging houses and agricultural land, and affecting electricity supplies in Ghizer and Hunza. Flash floods swept through several areas of Ghizer early Saturday, damaging houses, crops and orchards. In Naubahar village, floodwaters damaged the Gushgush Jamaat Khana and destroyed fruit trees, crops and agricultural land. The flooding also blocked the road connecting Immit with Barjangle and damaged power transmission lines along the route.
