LAHORE, 29 August, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Twenty-five Pakistani nationals detained in India have returned home through the Wagah-Attari border, according to the Pakistan High Commission. The Pakistan High Commission said the 25 Pakistani nationals were repatriated to Pakistan through the Wagah-Attari border on Saturday. Officials from the Pakistan High Commission were also present at the border and assisted in facilitating the repatriation process. According to the High Commission, the Government of Pakistan will continue its efforts to secure the release and repatriation of other Pakistani nationals detained in Indian prisons.Officials said the government would remain in contact with the relevant Indian authorities to ensure the safe release and repatriation of all Pakistani nationals.

 PESHAWAR, 29 August, 2026 (Nosheen): An attempt by militants to carry out a drone attack on Matani Police Station in Peshawar was foiled due to enhanced security measures, officials said. Peshawar Capital City Police Officer Mian Saeed said footage had been obtained showing explosives being dropped from a drone targeting the police station. According to the CCPO, the attack attempt was thwarted after a protective barrier installed around the police station prevented the explosives from falling inside the station’s compound. No casualties were reported in the incident, the official said. Mian Saeed said steps were being taken to further strengthen the security of police stations in surrounding areas.  LAHORE, August 28, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Two assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs) died during a training race at the Elite Force Training Centre on Bedian Road in Lahore on Thursday. According to police sources, ASI Syed Tasawar Shah of the Rawalpindi Patrolling Police died while participating in the race. Sources said he died due to extreme heat and high humidity. Another ASI, Muhammad Arshad, son of Muhammad Shafi, from the Sargodha Region, also fell ill during the training race and was shifted to a hospital for treatment, where he later died.
