Islamabad, 3 November, 2026 (Ghufran): Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi has been summoned by Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court as a prosecution witness in the Rs2 billion extortion case involving alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. According to The Times of India, the court has directed the actress to appear on November 2, with her name included as a witness in the third supplementary charge sheet filed in the case. The allegations relate to an alleged extortion operation carried out by Chandrashekhar during 2020 and 2021, when he was lodged in Delhi’s Rohini Jail. Investigators allege that he impersonated a senior government official and extorted approximately Rs2 billion from Aditi Singh, wife of former Ranbaxy promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh, by promising to secure her husband’s release from prison in exchange for money. The Delhi Police Economic Offences Wing (EOW) investigated the alleged extortion and filed a charge sheet under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). Nora Fatehi had previously been questioned by the EOW over her alleged association with Chandrashekhar and his wife, Leena Maria Paul. Her statement was also recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, following which she was included as a prosecution witness in the supplementary charge sheet. During the investigation, the actress reportedly told authorities that she had come into contact with Chandrashekhar through his wife. Investigators also questioned her about her participation in an event held in Chennai in December 2020. The case remains part of the wider investigation into the alleged financial fraud and extortion network linked to Chandrashekhar.
