
Islamabad: 29 July 2026(Kamran Raja): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today received His Excellency Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait, who called on him in Islamabad.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the Federal Ministers for Defence, Commerce, National Food Security and Research, Communications, Maritime Affairs, and Petroleum, the Adviser to the Prime Minister, as well as senior government officials.
The Prime Minister warmly welcomed the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister and conveyed his best wishes to the Amir of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the Crown Prince, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah. Recalling the longstanding fraternal ties between Pakistan and Kuwait, founded on shared values, mutual trust, and enduring friendship, the Prime Minister noted that both countries had consistently stood by each other during challenging times.
Discussing the evolving regional situation, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the leadership and people of Kuwait and strongly condemned the attacks on Kuwait and other brotherly Gulf countries during the ongoing conflict. He underscored Pakistan’s commitment to supporting regional peace through dialogue, emphasizing the country’s role as an honest and sincere mediator and facilitator. The Prime Minister also thanked the Kuwaiti leadership for its support for Pakistan’s peace efforts.
Reviewing bilateral relations, the Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum in Pakistan-Kuwait ties and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding cooperation in trade, investment, energy, agriculture, information technology, maritime affairs, and human resource development. He also appreciated the Government of Kuwait for hosting the Pakistani community and acknowledged its significant contribution to Kuwait’s socio-economic development.
Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the Kuwaiti leadership to the Prime Minister and reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
He also expressed deep appreciation for the constructive role played by Pakistan’s leadership, particularly Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, in promoting dialogue and diplomacy aimed at resolving the current regional crisis and restoring peace. The Foreign Minister further thanked the Government and people of Pakistan for their steadfast solidarity and support for Kuwait during the ongoing difficult circumstances.
Both sides underscored the importance of sustained consultation and close coordination on bilateral and regional matters of mutual interest. They agreed to exchange high-level delegations in the near future to further advance discussions and strengthen cooperation across multiple sectors.
The Prime Minister also reiterated his invitation to His Highness the Crown Prince of Kuwait to undertake an official visit to Pakistan at a mutually convenient time, expressing confidence that such an exchange would further deepen the longstanding brotherly relations between the two countries.
