 JAKARTA, 5 September, 2026 (Ghufraan) – Indonesian authorities on Saturday launched a water bombing operation to contain wildfires spreading near Nusantara, the country’s future capital city on the island of Borneo, an official said. The operation was initiated after fires intensified in buffer areas surrounding Nusantara since mid-August. WASHINGTON, 5 September, 2026 (Kamran Raja): The US State Department has approved a series of potential arms sales worth approximately $6.1 billion to Saudi Arabia, Oman and Iraq, including precision-guidance kits, tank engines, fighter jet support and helicopters. The largest proposed deal would see Saudi Arabia acquire more than 10,000 extended-range Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) kits and related equipment in a package valued at around $5 billion. The deal also includes a similar number of unguided bombs, divided roughly equally between 500-pound and 2,000-pound munitions. The JDAM kits, supplied by Boeing, can convert conventional bombs into precision-guided weapons.  NEPAL, 05 September, 2026 (Nosheen): Rescue teams in Nepal pulled a Chinese national alive from a tunnel buried under debris on Saturday, 10 days after catastrophic flooding swept through the region and left thousands missing. A joint rescue team comprising Nepal Army personnel and foreign experts rescued the man from around 225 metres inside a tunnel at the Upper Trishuli-1 Hydropower Project in Rasuwa district, according to a military statement. The survivor, identified as Luhaitao, was found alive with his body covered in thick mud. Earthquake Jolts Khuzdar and Surrounding Areas

 KHUZDAR, 05 September, 2026 (Nosheen): Earthquake tremors were felt in Khuzdar and surrounding areas of Balochistan on Friday, causing panic among residents. According to the Seismic Monitoring Centre, the earthquake measured 3.2 on the Richter scale and occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres. The seismic centre said the epicentre was located approximately 75 kilometres northwest of Khuzdar. Following the tremors, residents reportedly came out of their homes and shops and gathered in open areas as a precautionary measure. No casualties or property damage were reported immediately following the earthquake. Authorities are monitoring the situation and have advised citizens to remain calm and take necessary precautionary measures in case of any emergency.
