Karachi, 2 September, 2026: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Karachi, in a successful joint intelligence-based operation conducted in collaboration with the Federal Civil Intelligence Agency, has arrested two key terrorists affiliated with the Mufti Saad group of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also referred to by authorities as Fitna-ul-Khawarij. The arrested suspects have been identified as Umar Farooq, son of Hassan Gul, and Abdullah, son of Mumtaz Ali. Two hand grenades were also recovered from their possession during the operation. According to the CTD Karachi spokesperson, initial investigations revealed that the suspects belonged to the Mufti Saad group of the banned TTP and had travelled to Karachi from Afghanistan on the instructions of their commander.
