MICHIGAN, 15 August, 2026 (Nosheen): Five people were killed in a shooting in northern Michigan on Friday, while the suspected gunman was later found dead following a manhunt, Michigan State Police said. State police said troopers were dispatched at around 11:40 a.m. local time to a home in Missaukee County following a report of a shooting. Officers found three people dead and a fourth person wounded at the scene. The injured victim remained hospitalized in critical condition.The suspect was identified by police as 39-year-old Chad Hickman. Authorities said he fled the scene before troopers arrived, triggering a widespread search operation.During the investigation, authorities discovered another deceased victim at a second residence. Troopers later located Hickman’s vehicle near a wooded area close to Whitlock Lake. Police said Hickman and another person were found dead at the location.Lieutenant Ashley Miller described the incident as heartbreaking for the local community and a challenging case for investigators. Police have not released the names, ages or genders of the victims, saying authorities were still working to notify their next of kin.
