Islamabad, 6 August, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Pakistan, Mr. Jiang Zaidong, called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Thursday and delivered a letter from Chinese President Xi Jinping. The letter conveyed President Xi Jinping’s appreciation for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s message sent on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed satisfaction over the positive momentum in Pakistan-China relations and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to further strengthening the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership with China.
The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of enhancing people-to-people contacts and expanding exchanges between political parties and parliaments of both countries to further deepen bilateral relations. The two sides discussed matters related to bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on regional issues of mutual interest. They reaffirmed their shared commitment to promoting peace, stability, and mutually beneficial cooperation for the progress and prosperity of the two countries and the region.
