Barrister Iftikhar Gilani Selected as PML-N’s Candidate for AJK Prime Minister

 ISLAMABAD, 27 August 2026 (Nosheen): The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has finalised Barrister Iftikhar Gilani as its candidate for the office of Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), following consultations on the formation of a new government in the region. The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad. QUETTA, 27 August 2026 (Kamran Raja): Security forces have killed 11 militants in separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, according to security sources.The operations were conducted in Bannu and South Waziristan districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Sasool area of Khuzdar district in Balochistan against militants affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan. According to the sources, two militants belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Bannu.
