
Muzaffarabad, 7 October, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Azad Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kotli have claimed that eight suspects were arrested over an alleged plan to disrupt law and order and paralyse routine life in the city under the guise of a protest. Addressing a press conference, police officials said meetings had allegedly been held in different districts as part of the plan, while arrangements were reportedly made at a meeting in Kotli to provide weapons, transportation and local facilitators to the suspected elements. According to police, pistols and other weapons were recovered from the eight arrested suspects. Police officials said the suspects allegedly carried out an action at Kala Dabb, during which a police constable was seriously injured and was fighting for his life at a hospital in Rawalpindi. Post Commander Naeem was also injured in the incident. Police said they responded to the situation, cleared the road and brought the circumstances under control. Officials added that further information emerged during interrogation of the arrested suspects, on the basis of which additional action would be taken. Police claimed that Kotli city was allegedly the target of the suspects’ next plan, while sensitive details could not be disclosed until completion of the investigation. Police maintained that the arrested individuals were allegedly attempting to disrupt normal life under the guise of a protest and warned that any attempt to disturb law and order would be dealt with in accordance with the law.
