Peshawar, 6 October 2026 (Nosheen): Security forces killed five terrorists and wounded two others during an intelligence-based operation in parts of North Waziristan and adjoining areas, according to security sources. The operation was conducted against alleged militants affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij after security forces monitored their movements and launched a targeted action against their positions. President Asif Ali Zardari commended the security forces for the successful operation, praising their professionalism and effective response against militant elements. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also appreciated the forces for taking timely and decisive action against the militants. The prime minister said operations against Fitna al-Khawarij would continue until terrorism is eliminated, reiterating that the establishment of lasting peace and eradication of terrorism remain among the government’s key priorities under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision.
