ISLAMABAD, 24 September 2026 (Nosheen): Minister of State for Law and Justice Barrister Aqeel Malik has criticised the proposed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Act, saying the legislation conflicts with federal laws and raises constitutional and legal concerns. Speaking to the media alongside Akhtar Wali Khan, Barrister Aqeel Malik said the proposed legislation had been drafted with political considerations and was aimed at bringing the police force under the control of the provincial government. Islamabad, 24 September, 2026 (Kamran Raja): The federal government has authorised the deployment of Pakistan Rangers in Islamabad and several districts of Punjab from September 20 to October 5 ahead of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) planned march towards the federal capital on September 27. According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics, Rangers personnel will be deployed under the Pakistan Rangers Ordinance, 1959, and the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997. The notification authorises Rangers and police to take necessary measures against violent activities and security threats, including action in self-defence in the event of attacks by armed or disruptive groups. Quetta, 23 September, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Security forces killed two terrorists belonging to Fitna Al-Hindustan during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Joosk area of Turbat under Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad 3. According to security sources, the operation was launched on the basis of intelligence reports regarding the presence of terrorists in the area. An exchange of fire took place between the security forces and the terrorists during the operation, resulting in the killing of two terrorists.
