
Rawalpindi, July 27, 2026(Kamran Raja): Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, received a delegation of the United States House of Representatives at General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi, led by Mr. Ryan Keith Zinke, Member of the House of Representatives from the State of Montana, and Mr. Michael James, Member of the House of Representatives from the State of Washington.
The meeting featured a comprehensive exchange of views on matters of mutual interest, regional security, bilateral defence cooperation, and opportunities to strengthen economic collaboration between Pakistan and the United States.
During the discussion, the Field Marshal underscored Pakistan’s significant economic potential, emphasizing that lasting regional peace and stability are closely linked to sustainable economic growth, expanded trade, and enhanced regional connectivity. He highlighted the Government’s ongoing structural reforms aimed at creating a business-friendly environment, improving investor confidence, and attracting foreign investment.
The visiting lawmakers acknowledged Pakistan’s important role in promoting regional stability and economic resilience. Drawing on the delegation’s professional experience and perspectives, both sides explored opportunities to deepen bilateral economic engagement, encourage private sector partnerships, and expand trade and commercial cooperation.
The delegation expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by Pakistan’s military leadership and reaffirmed its commitment to fostering stronger economic, commercial, and institutional ties between the United States and Pakistan.
