Rawalpindi, July 24, 2026(Nosheen): Pakistan’s security forces successfully foiled a major terrorist attack on a Joint Police Check Post in Tank District during the night of July 23–24, 2026, killing twelve militants belonging to the Indian-sponsored group Fitna Al Khwarij following a swift and decisive response.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the terrorists attempted to breach the security of the joint check post under the cover of darkness. Alert and resolute security personnel immediately engaged the attackers, thwarting their plans and eliminating all twelve terrorists during the exchange of fire.
In a desperate final act, the fleeing militants rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the perimeter wall of the check post. The powerful blast caused extensive damage to the facility and resulted in the martyrdom of fifteen personnel, including twelve members of the Pakistan Army, two police officials, and one government official from the Forest Department.
The fallen personnel made the ultimate sacrifice while defending the nation against terrorism, reflecting the courage, professionalism, and unwavering dedication of Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies.
A comprehensive sanitization operation is currently underway in the area to ensure that no terrorists remain at large. Security forces, in coordination with law enforcement agencies, continue to conduct intelligence-based operations as part of the nationwide counterterrorism campaign under “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan.
The operation underscores Pakistan’s continued resolve to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism and safeguard national peace and security. The sacrifices of the martyrs further strengthen the nation’s determination to defeat terrorism and protect the country’s sovereignty at all costs.
