An important meeting regarding water supply and sanitation in Islamabad and Rawalpindi under the chairmanship of Federal Interior Minister Dr. Gohar Ejaz
Federal Minister for Information Murtaza Solangi also participated in the meeting. The meeting was attended by representatives of Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Local Government Department, RDA and Cantonment Board. The existing system of water supply, sanitation and waste disposal in the twin cities was reviewed.
There are 8,000 sanitation workers who dispose of 2,300 tons of waste daily with an annual budget of 7 billion rupees, but still the sanitation of the two cities cannot be described as standard.
