 LAHORE, 4 October, 2026 (Ghufran): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has digitally inaugurated five road projects under the Punjab Public-Private Partnership Authority, with the management and operation of the roads handed over to the private sector. The transfer of these projects to the PPP model is expected to generate Rs22 billion in revenue for the Punjab government, while modern electronic toll plazas will also be established on the roads.  PESHAWAR, 4 October, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Security forces have killed eight India-sponsored militants during an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, security sources said on Sunday. According to the sources, the operation was launched on the basis of intelligence reports indicating the presence of militants in the area. Eight members of Fitna al-Khawarij were killed during the operation, including three key commanders. A large quantity of weapons and ammunition, along with foreign currency, was also recovered from the militants, the sources said.
