LAHORE, 03 September, 2026 (Nosheen): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab Assembly member Saqib Chadhar and his wife, Sumaira, have been declared innocent by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) investigation team in the harassment and death threats case involving actress Momina Iqbal. During proceedings at a Lahore sessions court, the investigation officer informed the court that the arrest of Saqib Chadhar and his wife was not required at this stage. The NCCIA had changed its investigation team and formed a joint team to conduct a fresh probe. US to Maintain Some Military Forces in Middle East Through 2027

WASHINGTON, 03 September, 2026 (Ghufran): The United States has decided to keep some of its military forces deployed in the Middle East through 2027 amid ongoing regional tensions, according to a Wall Street Journal report. The report, citing people familiar with the matter, said US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered certain American forces currently deployed in the region to remain in place until 2027. Around 50,000 US troops are currently deployed or on alert across the Middle East, including air defence units, fighter aircraft, naval vessels and other military assets. The deployment of some personnel from the US Army’s 82nd Airborne Division has also reportedly been extended through 2027.

RAWALPINDI, 03 September, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Security forces have foiled an infiltration attempt by Indian-sponsored Fitna al-Khawarij along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border near North Waziristan, killing 15 militants, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).The military’s media wing said the militants attempted to enter Pakistan from Afghanistan during the night between August 31 and September 1.
