RIYADH, 19 September, 2026 (Ghufran): Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense has issued an early warning for Jeddah, Khamis Mushait, Yanbu, Taif, Abha and the Jazan region through the National Early Warning Platform, urging citizens and residents to follow official safety instructions and take precautions in case of an emergency. Civil Defense advised people to remain calm and immediately move to the nearest safe location inside a building, preferably an interior room away from windows, and remain indoors until authorities confirm that the danger has passed. Residents were advised to avoid open areas, windows, glass structures, balconies and rooftops, while those outdoors were urged to enter the nearest building or seek shelter behind a solid barrier. Authorities also warned people against gathering, taking photographs or approaching hazardous locations after receiving the alert. Drivers were advised to pull over safely and stay away from bridges and tall buildings if they receive the warning while travelling. Civil Defense said residents in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province should call 911 in case of danger, while the emergency number for other areas of Saudi Arabia is 998.
