
Islamabad, May 7, 2026(Kamran Raja): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid a surprise visit to Islamabad Airport. During the visit, he reviewed the immigration process for Hajj pilgrims and other passengers. The Interior Minister inspected the counters established for Saudi immigration of Pakistani passengers under the “Road to Makkah” initiative and interacted with the staff. Under the Road to Makkah initiative, Hajj pilgrims are being provided fast-track Saudi immigration facilities at Pakistani airports before departure. Hajj pilgrims expressed satisfaction over the excellent arrangements for Saudi immigration facilities at Islamabad Airport under the program and thanked Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
Speaking to the Interior Minister, the pilgrims stated that the process was extremely smooth and hassle-free. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also inquired from passengers about immigration and other facilities. Passengers informed him that the immigration process took only a few minutes and was carried out in a highly efficient manner. All immigration counters for international arrivals were fully operational, ensuring timely immigration clearance. The Interior Minister also reviewed the Joint Search Check Post and directed authorities to further improve and expedite the search system. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that the security system is being upgraded through the use of modern technology. He emphasized ensuring both passenger facilitation and security at the airport simultaneously and directed all relevant institutions to work in close coordination.
He stated that providing timely facilities to passengers remains the top priority. DG FIA Dr. Usman Anwar, Director FIA Islamabad Zone Shehzad Bukhari, and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
