ISLAMABAD, 16 August, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives and widespread devastation caused by the earthquake in Indonesia.In a message posted on X, the Prime Minister, on behalf of the people and Government of Pakistan, extended heartfelt condolences to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, the people of Indonesia and the bereaved families who lost their loved ones in the devastating earthquake.Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan’s thoughts and prayers were with all those affected by the disaster. He also prayed for the swift recovery of those injured in the earthquake.He reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with the brotherly people of Indonesia, saying that Pakistan stood shoulder to shoulder with them during this difficult time.The Prime Minister wished strength, courage and resilience to all those affected by the natural disaster and expressed hope for the speedy recovery and rehabilitation of the injured and affected communities.
