*Pakistan Mission & Consulate General to Jointly Host Event Observing ‘Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir’ Tomorrow*

*New York, August 4, 2024:* The Pakistan Permanent Mission to the UN and the Pakistan Consulate General in New York will jointly host the Youm-e-Istehsal event on August 5 (tomorrow), marking the fifth anniversary of India’s unilateral and illegal actions aimed at consolidating its occupation of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

These actions, described by Indian leadership as the “Final Solution” for Kashmir, have included efforts to impose demographic changes on Jammu and Kashmir in violation of international law and Security Council resolutions.

Since 2019, human rights violations in IIOJK have escalated, including extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, arbitrary detentions, sexual violence, and restrictions on freedom of expression. Despite these oppressive measures, the resolve of the Kashmiri people remains unbroken, and their struggle for freedom continues.

The Youm-e-Istehsal event aims to bring together the Kashmiri diaspora and diplomats to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people. The event will focus on the following key agenda items:

•	Demonstrating support for the Kashmiri people in their struggle for freedom.
•	Highlighting the ongoing human rights abuses in IIOJK.
•	Examining how the revocation of Article 370 has affected the lives of Kashmiris.
•	Discussing the colonial settler project aimed at altering the demographic makeup of the Indian-occupied Kashmir.
•	Assessing the involvement and responsibility of the UN and the global community in resolving the Kashmir dispute in line with the UN resolutions.

This event aims to draw international attention to the plight of the Kashmiri people and to advocate for their rights and freedom as enshrined in the UNSC resolutions.
