ISLAMABAD, 21 September, 2026 (Ghufran): Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has departed for Iran to hold meetings with senior Iranian officials and discuss bilateral relations, regional developments and matters of mutual interest. According to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei, Naqvi’s visit will focus on bilateral issues and follow-up on understandings previously reached between the leaderships of Pakistan and Iran. During his meetings, the interior minister is expected to discuss the overall regional situation, Pakistan-Iran relations and efforts to promote peace and stability. The visit comes amid continued diplomatic engagement between the two countries and developments across the wider region. Naqvi has previously visited Iran on several occasions, including a visit in August alongside Field Marshal Asim Munir, during which Pakistani and Iranian officials discussed regional tensions, the Iran-US conflict and efforts toward peace and stability.
