Shehbaz Sharif’s Vision Comes True
Mian Shehbaz Sharif’s government in Punjab from 2008 to 2018 will always be remembered for its youth initiatives. He undertook major reforms in school education and established the Punjab Education Endowment Fund, which awarded scholarships to 450,000 deserving students.

He launched the Punjab Youth Policy in 2012 and his government inaugurated the Punjab International Sports Festival in which athletes from 26 foreign countries participated. I was honoured to execute Shehbaz Sharif’s vision as chief organiser of the festival together with a very capable team. It’s a moment of great pride for us that an athlete from Punjab, Arshad Nadeem, who participated in the 2012 and 2014 Punjab Youth and Sports Festivals went on to win the Olympic gold medal and break the Olympic record in javelin. When he won, like the rest of Pakistanis, it was natural for me to share this moment of joy and congratulate Shehbaz Sharif for his vision, which is now bearing fruit. I am sure many more Pakistani youngsters will make a name for themselves and the country in the coming months and years. Pakistan Zindabad
