
Lahore, August 9, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi conducted a detailed inspection of the collapsed bridge and affected railway track near Missan Kalar.The Federal Minister travelled on a railway trolley to inspect the affected section and reviewed the condition of the damaged bridge and railway track. He was briefed in detail on the extent of the damage, the current situation and the proposed measures for restoration.Muhammad Hanif Abbasi directed the relevant authorities to prepare and submit a comprehensive feasibility report for the restoration of the bridge within 20 days, covering all necessary technical and construction requirements.
He said that after completion of the feasibility report, practical work for reconstruction of the bridge and restoration of the affected railway track would be carried out by Pakistan Railways engineers. The Federal Minister directed the authorities to complete the restoration work at the earliest while ensuring compliance with all required safety standards and technical specifications.He stressed that every officer and employee must fulfill their responsibilities to facilitate the restoration of railway operations. He added that passenger convenience and the safe movement of trains remain the top priorities of Pakistan Railways.CEO Railways Muhammad Hafizullah, AGM Infrastructure Hammad Hassan Mirza, Divisional Superintendent Lahore and other senior railway officers accompanied the Federal Minister during the inspection.
