
Islamabad, 14 August 2026(Kamran Raja): Ambassador of China to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, where the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional developments and the close Pakistan-China relationship.
During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar conveyed condolences over the tragic death of a Chinese mountaineer following an avalanche incident at Broad Peak in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The Deputy Prime Minister assured the Chinese Ambassador of Pakistan’s full facilitation for the repatriation of the deceased’s remains.
Ambassador Jiang Zaidong appreciated Pakistan’s prompt assistance and support following the tragic incident.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional developments and other matters of mutual interest.
The Chinese Ambassador extended warm congratulations to the people and leadership of Pakistan on the occasion of the country’s 79th Independence Day.
He reaffirmed the close, time-tested and enduring ties between Pakistan and China, underscoring the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
