Rawalpindi , 14 August 2026(Kamran Raja): Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, hosted a reception in honour of Pakistan Army veterans on the occasion of Independence Day.
A large number of retired officers and soldiers attended the reception, which provided an opportunity to acknowledge the services and sacrifices of veterans who dedicated their lives to the defence of the country.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir paid rich tribute to the invaluable contributions and lifelong services of Pakistan Army veterans in safeguarding the country and strengthening national resilience.
The COAS & CDF highlighted that the experience, professional expertise and guidance of veterans constitute a valuable institutional asset for the Pakistan Army. He emphasized that their continued engagement remains particularly important in helping the country navigate an increasingly complex and evolving security environment.
The Army Chief appreciated the veterans for their enduring commitment to Pakistan and their continued interest in matters concerning the country’s defence and security.
The veterans, in turn, expressed confidence in the leadership of the Pakistan Army and reaffirmed their continued support for the Armed Forces in confronting emerging security challenges.
They also reiterated their commitment to contributing towards national unity, peace, stability and prosperity and expressed their resolve to continue serving the country in their respective capacities.
The reception underscored the enduring bond between serving personnel and veterans of the Pakistan Army and highlighted the shared commitment to the defence, security and progress of Pakistan.
