 GENEVA, 19 August, 2026 (Kamran Raja) — A record 907 humanitarian workers were killed, injured or kidnapped in 2025, highlighting the growing dangers faced by aid workers amid escalating conflicts and the increasing use of armed drones, the United Nations said on Wednesday. According to the Aid Worker Security Database, which compiles major security incidents involving humanitarian personnel, 907 aid workers were attacked in 2025, compared with 833 in 2024. Of those, 350 were killed, slightly lower than the record 387 deaths reported in 2024.
