Yemen Government Forces Claim 950 Houthi Fighters Killed, 380 Military Vehicles Destroyed

SANAA, 13 October, 2026 (Nosheen): Yemen’s armed forces have claimed that approximately 950 Houthi fighters were killed and 380 military vehicles and other assets were destroyed or disabled during 1,879 operations conducted under “Operation Dawn of Yemen.” According to Arab media reports, Yemeni armed forces spokesperson Colonel Majid Al-Nazili said the operations targeted Houthi military positions using fighter aircraft, drones, artillery, rocket launchers and sniper units. He said preliminary estimates indicated that around 950 Houthi fighters had been killed, while 380 military vehicles, logistical assets and other equipment had been destroyed or rendered inoperable. Al-Nazili stated that the operations disrupted Houthi firing positions and affected the group’s command-and-control systems and supply networks. He said the targets included fortifications, defensive installations, command centres, artillery and rocket-launcher positions, surveillance and intelligence facilities, reinforcement routes, weapons and ammunition depots, and military transport and logistical assets. The spokesperson added that airstrikes in Taiz targeted Houthi reinforcements and fighter units moving towards the front lines. According to him, the strikes dispersed Houthi gatherings and disrupted efforts to reinforce positions and regroup forces. Al-Nazili maintained that the operations were conducted in accordance with international humanitarian law, with due consideration given to the principles of distinction, proportionality and precaution to protect civilians and civilian property. He further said military engineering units were clearing recaptured positions and surrounding areas of landmines and explosive devices to ensure the safety of military personnel and civilians returning to those areas. The casualty and destruction figures were claims by Yemen’s armed forces and were not independently verified.
