RIYADH, 9 September, 2026 (Nosheen): Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned attacks carried out by Iran against Jordan, describing them as a blatant violation of international law and calling for their immediate cessation. In a statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry urged an immediate end to attacks on Jordan and other countries in the region and called for serious and effective measures to promote peace and stability across the Middle East. Saudi Arabia stressed the need for efforts to prevent further escalation and protect regional security. Earlier, a Cabinet session chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah reiterated Saudi Arabia’s commitment to defending its sovereignty, protecting the security of its citizens and expatriates, and safeguarding national assets. Following a review of the latest regional developments, the Council of Ministers said the Houthi terrorist militia had carried out attacks against civilian and economic targets in Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran, while continuing to target commercial vessels in the Red Sea and international maritime navigation. Saudi Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary said following the Cabinet session that the government reiterated its categorical rejection of the hostile approach and criminal conduct pursued by the Houthi extremist militia, which it said threatens the stability of Yemen and its Arab and Islamic neighbours.
