04 August , 2026(Kamran Raja): A Pakistani parliamentary delegation visited the Senate of the Republic of the Philippines on the sidelines of the UNITE Global Summit 2026 in Manila, underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to deepening parliamentary engagement and fostering stronger bilateral relations with the Philippines. During the visit, Advisor to the Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Misbah Khar, called on Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian and conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani. She reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to further strengthen its longstanding friendship with the Philippines through enhanced parliamentary exchanges, institutional cooperation, and broader bilateral collaboration.
The Pakistani delegation included Senator Khalida Ateeb, Senator Husna Bano, Senator Rahat Jamali, Advisor to the Chairman Senate Misbah Khar, and other members. The delegation also visited the Senate of the Republic of the Philippines, where they observed the proceedings of the Senate as part of efforts to promote mutual understanding and parliamentary cooperation.The delegation was warmly received by Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian and was formally acknowledged during the Senate sitting, reflecting the cordial and friendly relations between Pakistan and the Philippines.
