Houston 26 April 2026(Kamran Raja):Representatives of the Pakistan Association of Greater Houston (PAGH) held a meeting with Kendra Lewis, Family Service Counselor at Forest Park Southwest Cemetery, to address the growing need for dedicated burial space for the Muslim community.
The PAGH delegation, which included Joint Secretary Syed Arshad Iqbal and Office Secretary Mahmood Ahmed, formally submitted a request for the allocation of 5,000 cemetery plots. The initiative is aimed at ensuring that Muslim residents in the Greater Houston area have access to appropriate burial arrangements in accordance with Islamic traditions.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the importance of long-term planning to meet the community’s needs. PAGH representatives emphasized that the proposed allocation would serve as a significant step toward eventually establishing a designated cemetery for the organization.
Expressing optimism, PAGH officials said they remain hopeful that their request will receive a positive response. They underscored that the effort reflects a broader commitment to supporting the religious and cultural requirements of the Muslim community in the region.
If approved, the allocation would mark a major development in facilitating proper burial services and strengthening community infrastructure for Muslims in Houston.
