Security Forces Kill Eight India-Sponsored Militants in DI Khan Operation

PESHAWAR, 4 October, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Security forces have killed eight India-sponsored militants during an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, security sources said on Sunday. According to the sources, the operation was launched on the basis of intelligence reports indicating the presence of militants in the area. Eight members of Fitna al-Khawarij were killed during the operation, including three key commanders. A large quantity of weapons and ammunition, along with foreign currency, was also recovered from the militants, the sources said. The operation was conducted under the government’s Azm-e-Istehkam vision aimed at countering terrorism and promoting lasting peace and stability in the country. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for carrying out a timely and effective operation against the militants, saying the entire nation stood alongside the security forces in the fight against terrorism. He reiterated the government’s resolve to continue operations against Fitna al-Khawarij until the threat of terrorism is eliminated, stressing that the elimination of terrorism is essential for maintaining peace and stability in the country. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also commended the security forces for the successful operation in Dera Ismail Khan.
