Riyadh, 22 September, 2026 (Ghufran): Saudi Arabia has resumed operations of its East-West oil pipeline after temporarily shutting it down following drone attacks by Yemen’s Houthi movement, according to Reuters. The pipeline was closed on September 13 after the attacks, while crude oil loading operations at the Red Sea port of Yanbu were also suspended. Crude oil exports from Yanbu are expected to resume following the reopening of the pipeline. The resumption of pipeline operations contributed to a decline in international crude oil prices as concerns over disruptions to Saudi oil supplies eased. Saudi Arabia had been transporting around four million barrels of crude oil per day to Yanbu through the East-West pipeline, which provides an alternative route for transporting Saudi crude to the Red Sea and allows oil to bypass the Strait of Hormuz.
