Rawalpindi, 26 September, 2026(Kamran Raja): The Chiefs of Defence Forces and Chiefs of General Staff of the States Parties to the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement convened in Riyadh on Friday, September 25, 2026, with the participation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the Republic of Türkiye. The senior military leadership reviewed the prevailing security situation and threats confronting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The participants strongly condemned the attacks targeting the Holy City of Makkah as well as civilian and economic infrastructure. They commended the vigilance, professionalism and preparedness of the Saudi Armed Forces in safeguarding the Kingdom, protecting its people and maintaining security.
The meeting also discussed measures to further strengthen military cooperation among the three countries, with particular emphasis on intelligence sharing, enhanced military coordination and greater integration of defence capabilities. The participants underscored that closer cooperation would contribute to strengthening deterrence and collective defence. The military leaders reaffirmed the longstanding bonds of friendship, mutual trust and cooperation between the three countries and their armed forces. They noted that the Riyadh meeting reflected the growing strength of their defence partnership and their shared commitment to translating the commitments of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement into practical and effective military cooperation.
The participants reaffirmed their commitment to collective defence and expressed their resolve to work together in safeguarding the security, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
