Islamabad, 14 August 2026(News Desk): Riphah International University hosted Mr. Jacob Kwaku Fynn, Chief Operating Officer of Wisconsin International University College (WIUC), Accra, Ghana, during his official visit to Islamabad, aimed at exploring new avenues for academic and institutional cooperation between Pakistan and Ghana.
Mr. Fynn is visiting Pakistan at the special invitation of Mr. Hassan Muhammad Khan, Chancellor, Riphah International University. The visit reflects the shared commitment of Riphah International University and WIUC Ghana to developing meaningful international partnerships in higher education, research, professional development and knowledge exchange.
During the visit, Mr. Fynn held detailed discussions with Riphah’s senior leadership, including Mr. Hassan Muhammad Khan, Chancellor; Prof. Dr. Anis Ahmad, Vice Chancellor; Mr. Asadullah Khan, Executive Director, IIMCT; Prof. Dr. Yawar Hayat Khan, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics); Mr. Muhammad Raza Khan, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Management); and Brig. (R) Syed Mujtaba Tirmizi, Director International Business, along with Deans, Directors and other senior officials.
The discussions focused on establishing a sustainable institutional relationship between the two universities and identifying areas for mutually beneficial cooperation. Potential areas included joint academic programmes, faculty and student exchanges, collaborative research, healthcare education, professional capacity building and other initiatives of mutual interest.
Prof. Dr. Yawar Hayat Khan gave an overview of Riphah International University’s academic profile, multidisciplinary programmes, healthcare and professional education ecosystem, research capabilities and international engagement. He highlighted potential areas where Riphah and WIUC could complement each other through academic and institutional collaboration.
As part of the visit, Mr. Fynn was also introduced to Riphah’s academic and healthcare facilities, including its health sciences infrastructure and Riphah Medical City. The visit provided an opportunity to explore potential cooperation in healthcare education, research and professional development.
A tree was also planted by Mr. Jacob Kwaku Fynn at the University, symbolizing the growing friendship, shared aspirations and long-term commitment to strengthening institutional ties between Pakistan and Ghana.
The visit assumes significance in the context of expanding Pakistan–Ghana educational relations and offers opportunities for enhanced academic connectivity, knowledge exchange and institutional cooperation between the two countries, with potential outreach to the wider African region.
