
Makkah Al-Mukarramah, August 7, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Friday arrived at Al-Safa Palace in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, where he was warmly received by the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Following the welcome ceremony, the two leaders commenced a bilateral meeting to discuss matters of mutual interest, with particular focus on strengthening Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations, expanding economic cooperation, enhancing investment opportunities, and exchanging views on regional and international developments.
The meeting reflects the longstanding strategic partnership and close brotherly ties between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The leadership of both countries is expected to deliberate on ways to further deepen cooperation across key sectors, including trade, investment, defence, energy, and regional security. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is accompanied at the meeting by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif. The visit underscores the shared commitment of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to further strengthening their historic bilateral relationship and promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
