Lahore, August 6, 2026(Ghufran): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has imposed a two-year ban on domestic cricketer Hamza Nazar from participating in all forms of domestic and international cricket following disciplinary proceedings related to information submitted during a visa application process. According to the PCB, the disciplinary action was taken after an inquiry found that Hamza Nazar failed to provide complete and accurate information, submitted misleading details, and withheld material facts while applying for a visa through the Board. The PCB stated that a three-member inquiry committee was constituted to investigate the matter. The committee provided Hamza Nazar with a full opportunity to present his explanation and respond to the allegations before reaching its conclusions.
Following a comprehensive review of the committee’s findings and recommendations, the PCB decided to suspend Hamza Nazar from all forms of cricket for a period of two years. In addition to the suspension, the Board has imposed a fine of PKR 1 million. Hamza Nazar has represented various domestic teams during his career and has featured in 29 first-class matches, scoring 748 runs at an average of 29.92, including one century and five half-centuries. The 27-year-old was part of the Sialkot Region squad that reached the final of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy last year against Karachi Region Blues, where he scored 64 and 56 in the two innings. Despite his performance, Sialkot Region finished as runners-up. The PCB reiterated its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and compliance in all matters involving players and officials, emphasizing that any breach of the Board’s regulations and procedures will be dealt with in accordance with its disciplinary framework.
