Islamabad, 02 September, 2026 (Nosheen): Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of cybersecurity, protect vital national interests and enhance joint efforts to address emerging cyber threats. The agreement was signed by Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja and Governor of Saudi Arabia’s National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA), Engineer Majed Al-Mazyed. According to a press release issued by the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, the MoU aims to enhance cooperation between the two countries for the protection of cyberspace and vital interests of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The agreement will also facilitate the exchange of knowledge, expertise and best practices between the two sides to effectively address emerging and evolving cybersecurity threats.The MoU is expected to strengthen bilateral cooperation and contribute towards enhanced regional and global collaboration in the field of cybersecurity. Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to working together to improve cybersecurity capabilities, promote information and expertise sharing, and develop coordinated responses to emerging cyber challenges. The agreement marks an important step towards further strengthening the strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in the digital and cybersecurity domains.
