Pakistan Overtake Australia in ICC ODI Rankings After Victory Over England

Islamabad, 21 October, 2026(Ghufran): Pakistan have climbed to fourth place in the ICC Men’s One-Day International (ODI) team rankings, overtaking Australia after securing consecutive victories against Sri Lanka and England in the ongoing tri-series at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Pakistan have reached fourth position with 103 rating points, while South Africa occupy third place with 104 points. India remain at the top of the rankings with 115 points, followed by New Zealand in second place with 109 points. Pakistan’s latest improvement follows an emphatic 87-run victory over England on Tuesday, extending their winning streak in the tournament. All-rounder Arafat Minhas delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 59 runs off 58 balls before claiming career-best bowling figures of six wickets for 40 runs to dismantle England’s batting line-up. Hasan Nawaz top-scored for Pakistan with 79 runs off 74 deliveries, while Faheem Ashraf contributed a quickfire 39 off 26 balls. Saad Baig also played a valuable innings of 35 runs as Pakistan recovered from 81 for four to post a competitive total of 302 for nine. In reply, England were bowled out for 215 runs, falling 87 runs short of their 303-run target. Tom Banton scored 57 runs, while Ben Duckett contributed 45. Minhas played a decisive role in England’s collapse by taking crucial wickets, including those of Will Jacks and Adil Rashid in successive deliveries. He later ran out Gus Atkinson to complete an impressive all-round performance and secure Pakistan’s convincing victory. Pakistan will now look to maintain their winning momentum in the tri-series and further strengthen their position in the ICC ODI rankings.
