
Changsha, China: 27 April 2026(Kamran Raja): President Asif Ali Zardari witnessed the signing of three memorandums of understanding (MoUs) between Pakistani and Chinese entities, covering desalination, agricultural technology, and tea sector cooperation, underscoring a shared commitment to strengthening practical collaboration in priority sectors. The first MoU was signed between the Local Government, Government of Sindh and Lucion Environmental Technology Group for the development of a seawater desalination project in Karachi aimed at enhancing the city’s water supply. The agreement was signed on behalf of the Government of Sindh by Sharjeel Inam Memon, while Yuhui signed on behalf of the Chinese side. The second MoU, also between the Local Government, Government of Sindh and Long Ping Hi-Tech Information Company, focuses on advancing cooperation in agricultural technology. Sharjeel Inam Memon signed the agreement for Sindh, while Chen Zhixin represented the Chinese side.
The third MoU, pertaining to the tea sector, was signed between MESKAY & FEMTEE Trading Company, Hunan Tea Group, and Jiaolong International Technology (Hainan). The agreement aims to promote comprehensive cooperation across the tea industry, supporting its development in both countries while strengthening economic, trade, and people-to-people ties. The MoU was signed by Saleem Mandviwalla on behalf of Pakistan, and by Zhou Chongwang and Hao Jiaolong for the Chinese side. Senior officials present on the occasion included Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, Ali Hassan Barohi, and Khalil Hashmi.
