Letter from President Dr. Arif Alvi to Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja
The President invited the Chief Election Commissioner for a meeting today or tomorrow to decide the date of the general election. The President dissolved the National Assembly on the advice of the Prime Minister on 09.08.2023, text of the President’s letter.
Under Article 48 (5) of the Constitution, the President is bound to fix a date within ninety days of the date of dissolution for the holding of general elections to the Assembly. The Chief Election Commissioner is invited to meet the President today or tomorrow to fix a suitable date, letter.
