TEHRAN, 20 September, 2026 (Ghufran): Iran has warned that it is prepared to target US military bases and other American interests in the region if it comes under another attack. In a detailed statement issued Sunday, Iran’s armed forces joint command claimed, without naming the country, that the United States had decided to resume military operations against Iran after consulting some regional countries. According to Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, intelligence information indicated that the decision was made during a joint meeting held in a European country. The statement alleged that Washington was considering renewed action to cover up its failures in the previous conflict and at the direction of certain regional countries. Iranian military authorities also warned regional states against supporting any US aggression against Iran, saying countries that participate would be considered parties to the conflict. Earlier, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei claimed in an Al Jazeera interview that another US attack was highly likely, but said Tehran was fully prepared for a “decisive war.” He said Iran was consulting Qatari and Pakistani mediators and had conveyed its position on negotiations. Rezaei said Tehran had three conditions for ending the war: an end to fighting on all fronts involving Iran, the release of frozen Iranian assets and an end to the naval blockade. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf also confirmed that Iran had conveyed its demands to the United States through mediators, saying that returning to negotiations would remain difficult until Washington fulfilled its commitments and agreed terms, while the Strait of Hormuz would remain closed.
