The steps taken to prevent monkeypox (Mpox) have been strengthened at the nation's airports. The number of staff from Border Health Services at Jinnah International Airport has been boosted. Now, there will always be two doctors available, up from one before. Also, the team of medical assistants has grown from five to ten. In August, a total of 146,722 travelers were examined at Jinnah International, and since the start of the surveillance, only one traveler with symptoms was sent to hospital on August 31 for further checks. After each international flight, the immigration and international lounge areas are disinfected two to three times a day. Two extra cabins have been set up for the examination and quarantine of travelers who might be infected. Moreover, information standees have also been put up in the international arrival walkway at Jinnah International Airport. The management of the airport is also supporting the BHS team in conducting enhanced awareness sessions at the Resource Center of Jinnah International.
