High-level World Bank delegation met with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah

World Bank Director South Asia Mr. John A. Roome is leading the delegation. Provincial Ministers, Advisers, Chief Secretary, Chairman P&D and respective secretaries participated with the Chief Minister of Sindh. The progress of various projects was discussed in the meeting. Destructive rains and floods in 2022 due to climate change in Pakistan. 3/1 part of the country was submerged in water. 1700 people killed, 33 million people affected and $16 billion in damage, World Bank.

Floods can now be followed by hazards like heat waves. According to the World Bank, 8.4 to 9.1 million people will suffer further poverty due to floods in Pakistan. Reconstruction should be started in flood-affected areas in the country. Revive with special focus on agriculture sector. Modern farming methods and agricultural water drainage system should be introduced in the country. Steps have been taken to restore agriculture in Sindh, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. Farmers in Sindh have been given financial support for wheat seeds with the help of the World Bank. The Kharif crop has been grown by draining water from the agricultural lands, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. Sindh has had the best wheat crop this year, said Sindh Chief Minister. The Sindh government has fixed the support price of wheat at 4000 rupees per maund. A good crop of wheat and farmers getting a good price will help them recover, Sindh Chief Minister.
