
Islamabad, 13 April 2026(Kamran Raja): Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation today with Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Yi.
During the conversation, the two leaders exchanged views on the recently concluded Islamabad Talks and the ongoing direct negotiations between the United States and Iran. Both sides discussed regional developments and emphasized the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement.
Foreign Minister Wang Yi appreciated Pakistan’s sincere and constructive efforts in promoting peace and stability across the region. He also reaffirmed China’s continued support for Pakistan’s positive and facilitative role in advancing dialogue.
The Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to promoting dialogue and diplomacy as the preferred means for achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.
Underscoring that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path forward, both leaders also discussed the Pakistan–China Five-Point Peace Initiative aimed at facilitating peaceful resolution of outstanding issues.
The two sides agreed to remain in close contact on regional and international developments.
