
Islamabad, 24 June 2026(Kamran Raja): The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has significantly intensified its nationwide operations against foreign nationals, particularly Afghan nationals, involved in the illegal acquisition of Pakistani Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) and passports through fraudulent means.
These coordinated enforcement actions are aimed at dismantling organized criminal networks engaged in identity fraud, document forgery, human smuggling, and the unlawful use of Pakistani travel documents for international movement and other illegal activities.
As a result of these sustained operations, FIA has registered 95 First Information Reports (FIRs) and booked 412 accused persons linked to the issuance, procurement, and utilization of fake, forged, tempered, or fraudulently obtained Pakistani identity and travel documents.
During investigations and enforcement actions, FIA successfully recovered and confiscated:
- 64 Fake/Fraudulently Obtained CNICs
- 2,279 Fake, Forged, Tempered, or Counterfeited Pakistani Passports

These operations form part of FIA’s broader strategy to protect the integrity of Pakistan’s national identity management system, prevent the misuse of travel documents, strengthen border and immigration security, and eliminate criminal networks involved in identity fraud and illegal migration.
The FIA remains fully committed to identifying, investigating, and prosecuting all individuals, facilitators, and organized groups involved in obtaining, processing, or using fraudulent Pakistani identity and travel documents. Investigations are progressing vigorously, and further arrests are expected as inquiries continue.
