Federal Minister Dr. Musadik Malik Meets CEO of SciTech DiploHub Alexis Roig

Islamabad, 28 January 2026(Kamran Raja): Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Dr. Musadik Malik, held a meeting with Mr. Alexis Roig, Chief Executive Officer of SciTech DiploHub, to discuss strengthening cooperation between Pakistan and SciTech DiploHub through the integration of science and diplomacy. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on promoting science diplomacy as a key tool to address contemporary global challenges, particularly climate change. Dr. Musadik Malik emphasized the effective utilization of Pakistan’s indigenous knowledge base, research potential, and scientific infrastructure to support evidence-based policymaking. Highlighting the importance of science-driven policies, the Federal Minister stated that in the prevailing global environment, the close linkage between science and diplomacy has become a global necessity. He underscored that addressing climate change challenges requires policies grounded in scientific research and innovation.

Dr. Musadik Malik also noted that science diplomacy in Pakistan would be further strengthened through the development of specialized training and fellowship programs. Discussions were held on designing such programs and exploring the placement of scientists within government ministries to enhance informed decision-making. The meeting also covered avenues for accessing climate finance and establishing a robust scientific advisory framework to support national climate objectives. Representatives from the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Global Change Impact Studies Centre (GCISC), universities, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were also present at the meeting.
