PAK-CHINA FRIENDSHIP FESTIVAL

A cultural event was held in Islamabad to mark the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China as well as the 10th anniversary of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). This event was organised by the All Pakistan-China Friendship Association in partnership with the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan. Pakistani students are so well keen on Chinese culture and it is a great event to celebrate the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 10th anniversary of the launch of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor(CPEC).

China has developed in leaps and bounds due to the hardwork and dedication of the youth guided by the vision of their leaders (Mr. Zhang Heqing).

The Pakistan TimesCounselor Zhang Heqing specifically pointed out that the Generation of Pakistan particularly at a potential turning point and that the potential for development and growth is insurmountable if the right policies are put in place and channeled correctly.

The ‘Pakistan-China Friendship festival’ was hosted by the All-Pakistan China Friendship Association (APCFA) in collaboration with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) to commemorate the 74th anniversary of the founding of the PRC. The festival was designed as a day-long activitybased event that took place in a prestigious hotel location in Islamabad.
The Chief Guests of the festival Mr. Zhang Heqing, Cultural Counselor of the PRC’s Embassy in Pakistan, along with the additional title of Director, China Culture Center in Pakistan. Mr. Ikhlaq Usmani, President of APCFA. Romana Iftikhar Patron APFCA.

A key objective of the festival was to impart the story of the People’s Republic of China  remarkable economic growth over the last 74 years and highlight significant elements of the nation’s culture to all participants, with a specific focus on Generation students who attended from institutions of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Students attended and engaged in activities and represented diverse academic institutions of the twin cities.

PAK-CHINA FRIENDSHIP FESTIVALChinese academics and experts in their relative fields engaged the students in activity-based learning of The Chinese style of calligraphy  Live-Cooking lessons in famous Chinese cuisine and an introductory course in the Mandarin language, taught to the students in the same participatory and engaging manner.

Following the live activity sessions with the students a short video on China’s growth and development leading to their international support in the form of the BRI and its section of Pakistan, the CPEC, was shown to the audience. Soon after, the band ‘Poor Rich Boy’ performed four enthralling and uplifting songs, emphasizing the PRC’s achievements and the significance of celebrating independence, derived from lyrics they have used in their songs by Pakistani legends such as Allama Iqbal.
