Israel Deports 14 Foreign Activists Who Came to Show Solidarity with Palestinians

Islamabad, 8 November, 2026 (Kamran Raja): Israel has ordered the deportation of 14 foreign human rights activists who travelled to the occupied West Bank to express solidarity with Palestinians and assist local farmers in harvesting olives. According to the international news agency AFP, Israeli authorities arrested the activists on Friday following an incident near Ramallah, where they were allegedly involved in a confrontation with Israeli settlers. The Human Rights Defenders Fund said the volunteers had arrived in the West Bank to support Palestinian farmers and help protect them against alleged attacks by Israeli settlers. Their mission was to accompany and safeguard Palestinian farmers during the annual olive harvest. A total of 17 people were reportedly detained in connection with the incident, including 12 foreign volunteers, two foreign journalists and three Palestinians. Reports of increased attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinian farmers have emerged during the current olive harvest season, including incidents of physical assaults and theft of agricultural produce. The deportation order has further raised concerns over the treatment of foreign activists seeking to monitor and support Palestinian communities in the occupied territory.
