San Francisco, 16 October 2026(Kamran Raja):Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, H.E. Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has urged the Pakistani-American community in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area to play a leading role in strengthening economic ties between Pakistan and the United States by promoting trade, investment and business partnerships.
The Ambassador made these remarks while addressing a community event attended by representatives of major Pakistani-American organisations from the Greater San Francisco Bay Area.
Community representatives welcomed Ambassador Sheikh’s participation and appreciated the Embassy of Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen Pakistan-US relations. They also acknowledged the support extended by the Consulate General of Pakistan in Los Angeles in facilitating consular services for the Pakistani-American community in the region.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Sheikh highlighted the Pakistani-American community’s unique role as a bridge between Pakistan and the United States. He underscored the longstanding and consequential bilateral relationship between the two countries, acknowledging the community’s valuable contributions to fostering closer ties and promoting mutual understanding.
Emphasising the economic opportunities emerging from the positive trajectory of Pakistan-US relations, the Ambassador noted that Pakistan offered significant potential for trade, investment and business collaboration across various sectors. He encouraged Pakistani-American entrepreneurs, investors and professionals to seize these opportunities and translate the growing engagement between the two countries into mutually beneficial economic partnerships.
Ambassador Sheikh also highlighted the enduring bonds of the Pakistani-American community with its homeland, Pakistan, and called upon its members to leverage their professional expertise, entrepreneurial experience and business networks to showcase Pakistan’s investment potential. He particularly emphasised opportunities in the information technology sector, urging the community to promote sustainable, forward-looking partnerships that could expand bilateral trade, encourage investment and contribute to shared economic growth.
Reaffirming the Embassy’s commitment to facilitating stronger linkages between Pakistani and American businesses, Ambassador Sheikh encouraged the community to work collectively with relevant stakeholders to advance practical economic cooperation and further strengthen commercial relations between the two countries.
